About me.
I have spent more than three decades building, leading, and stewarding organizations at the intersection of business, public trust, and civic life.
More than 30 years ago, I founded a regional marketing communications firm, now called Garrand Moehlenkamp, and served as its sole owner until its successful sale in 2021. Over that period, my work encompassed international and national brand strategy, public policy and political strategy, regional economic development, and long-term positioning for regulated public utilities — often in environments where reputation, governance, and public accountability were inseparable.
Alongside private enterprise, I have held public and diplomatic responsibilities, including appointment as Honorary Consul of Canada in New England. In addition, I have served in leadership and fiduciary roles on nonprofit, arts, and university boards, including transportation, public media, international trade, and global environmental advocacy — experiences that have deepenedmy understanding of governance, stewardship, and public accountability.
Catching theThird Wave
Life comes in waves, they say. The child becomes the woman, but then what? Is the best really yet to come?
I think so, and now, going on seven decades of solar circumnavigation, I’m enjoying a third wave that’s rich with the opportunity to make, experience, and serve. What could be better than that?
This site reflects both my professional work and the broader context in which I live and think.
